In our lives there is a 'hard' landscape and a 'soft' landscape.
The hard landscape is the stuff you can't really change, so you work around it. Things like work, picking up the kids, that type of thing.
Soft landscape is everything else. It's the non-time sensitive stuff that fits around the hard landscape. Exercise, eating, washing, cooking, cleaning, paperwork, relaxation, everything else basically.
It amazes me how many health advisers have this kind of resistance, even resentment of Christmas.
It's there — accept it. Enjoy it…
Now don't get me wrong. I know there are folks who struggle with major holidays in terms of falling off the 'health' wagon in a big way.
But it amazes me how many health advisors will try to put everyone on a guilt trip at this time of year, just for wanting to relax a little.
For goodness sake — For the majority of us, Christmas is a time to loosen the belt a little, enjoy having our family and friends around us and yes — enjoy a few treats.
Of course you don't want to throw away all your hard work by eating four times your body weight in Jelly Babies. But please don't beat yourself up about having a slice of chocolate cake on Christmas Day.
Now…
If you're still at (or near) the start line in terms of planning a healthier lifestyle for yourself, now's obviously not the time of year to make a start…
But what you can do now is start preparing mentally for the New Year. What we say to ourselves (and how we say it) is such an important — and overlooked — part of feeling happy and content.
Right now, you want to be saying something like this to yourself (if it's true, of course):
I haven't improved my health as much as I'd like this year. But I'm going to enjoy the holiday period and am resolved to start afresh, with renewed determination come January 1st 2008.
Oh, and you've actually got to mean it. Just saying it parrot-fashion won't do it I'm afraid
I know it sounds goofy but if you repeat something like this to yourself every few days over Christmas I guarantee you'll get your subconscious working for you very nicely indeed…
You'll be free to enjoy Christmas but come the end of December you'll find yourself anticipating the New Year and the promise of a healthier and happier you. When it comes, visualize yourself feeling great, full of energy and with an inner contentment you never thought possible.
Because that's what's going to happen for you in 2008. Believe it.
With that unwavering mental focus and desire to make it happen, all you'll need is a clear plan of action. A way to define your New Year's Resolutions and ensure you stick to them during 2008.
Easier said than done. Most folks will fall off the wagon after a few weeks or even a few days. But 2008 will be different, because this year you'll have Mike and me showing you the way…
We're going to give all Passion for Health subscribers a free guide to planning and sticking to New Year's Resolutions…
Think of it as a Christmas present from Mike and me. One that'll last all year

Don't Buy Habit Guide Just Now
Habit is naturally a big part of the problem (and solution) to living a healthy lifestyle. If you need to tackle your habits, don't buy Habit Guide just now. We're going to run a promotion in January offering a hefty discount, so I strongly advise waiting until then.
[ Update 17 Dec ~ I've now pulled down the main Habit Guide page until January. It was unfair for you to buy now when you could get a big discount in January. ]
When it's ready, send me the free report to keeping New Year's Resolutions
Take care,
~ James

As the holidays are upon us and stress levels are rising, so are the chances of contracting a cold or virus. Increased stressors related to the holidays, amplified by added exposure to illness caused by seasonal travel, as well as being pulled in many directions with added celebration obligations — can all lead to a temporary weakening of the Immune System.
Children are also more susceptible to illness this time of year, as changes in weather, daily schedules, and holiday hassles can take their toll on kids as well.

Question: from Pam
Could you tell me is there a tablet you can take which has hyaluronic acid in it? I have read where it is really good for the skin. A lot of cosmetic surgeries are using it as a wrinkle filler (juverderm). Would this be safe to take or have it injected into your skin.

Question: from Ruth
Actually I am writing about a news letter received from Visivite in New York.
They report about a new study (long term to finish in 2012) by a national organization to test the value of Omega 3 oil in the prevention of ‘wet’ macular degeneration.
I already take the combination of Vitamins, Minerals, leutin and zeaxanthin recommended some years ago and now sold in the UK.

Every woman wants beautiful hair – whether her hair be long, short or in between. And, it’s not just about some glitzy shampoo that a sexy model advertises on TV!
So, what can we do for gorgeous hair?
1) Eat right – as I’ve stated before, it’s supposed to be a duh, but it really is something we Americans struggle with. However, proper nutrition is the cornerstone for health AND beauty.

Scent a room with this decorative accent. Use a cookie cutter to cut a heart shape from a Sheet of natural Beeswax. Wrap the heart in cheesecloth and infuse it with a few drops of Rose Otto.
